Immortal.

Memories of the old home
To my sister flora.

In fancy, I walk the Paris Hills,
Best known of dear old Maine;

I listen to her flowing rills,
Her Hemlock's mystic strain,

And oft a sound more tender yet;
A spell around me weaves;

'tis the softened pitter-patter pet
of fluttering Birchen Leaves.

I see the play-house on the knoll,

the ledge with moss grown o'er
the birches standing white and whole

as in the days of yore.
I feel again the buoyant thrill

that thro' my being rushed
as I leaped barefoot the tumbling hill

and the cool, soft mosses crushed.

I see the orchards brimming o'er

with fruitage full and fair;
the sops-o-wines I taste once more,

the favorites rich and rare;
the luscious, red-striped marguerites,

the first to drop of all,
and later,rough-cheeked punkkin sweets,

the glory of the fall.

I see the swale, where grow sweet flag,

the rock beneath the tree;
I see the path where childeren lag

e'en yet, like you and me.
And over all the blue sky bends

so summer-bright and calm,
But the child-face on my sister lends

each scene, it's chiefest charm.

O, I hope that when our lives are o'er,

on earth, and when we arise,
we'll find a house like that or yore

Immortal in the skies.
A home with orchards, gardens fine,

sweet birds and laden bees,
and hear upon the heavenly air,

the songs of birchen trees.

I took my love down to violet hill.

Actually, this panorama is of the appalachian mountains from PARADAISE hill in Bethel, Maine. This stop was accurately named, because of it's frickin GORGROUS views from either side of the mountain. My uncle and I took a trip up Paradaise road for about a mile until we came across to great views of the sunset and the mountains.

Anyways, this shot is roughly 1/10 of the actual size of the photo. if you want to see the grand-daddy shot, click on the picture, then click on 'all sizes' above the photo, and the click 'original.'

P.s. the last post was taken in the Mollyocket Motel. nice little place that you may see a bit more of.

here's to anyone going through a hard time. here's to everyone.

Happy ending -Mika.

Paris and Rome, he....'s home!

Back in Richmond Hill, yeah!

The trip was awesome, just in general. I saw so many things, did so many things that I'll probably never get a chance to do again, and I also found places that I will probably return to many times over in my life. Anyways, I kept over 2600 pictures, that meanns of the pictures I took, I deleted about one third, and kept those. Between this trip, The rogers Cup, and camp, and an upcoming camp, my archives will be full. I need an external hard drive.

Anyways, this shot is a vertorama of the Maine countryside, just off the interstate 91 in Lyndonville. Now, the last time I saw these kinds of hills was in malaysia when i was 8, hence these rolling hills were a BIG DEAL for me. So if you don't find this that amazing, I don't blame ya. but the view was amazing anyways, and It gave you just a great sense of how small you actually were, humbling.

I went to the museum of natural history, operated by the smithsonian institution, the national aquarium, Union station in DC, and some other place I can't remember. the natural history museum was awesome, they had a kick ass rock collection, which made me want to become a geologist.

I saw the hope diamond, and at 45.2 carats, its BIG AND EXPENSIVE! but not that pretty :(

I was disappointed by the national aquarium, because it was small and lame. union station wasn't that great, I had seen some pretty cool shots of it on flickr, but i couldnt recognize any of the locations.
